The Beginning
When I was thirty-nine years young, I had one foot in the grave. Searching for an alternative, I ended up in the Amazon Rainforest where I found my will to live… and so much more.

Word
Food & Gratitude
While spoken words may exalt and edify; so, too, they can damage and dismantle. Regardless of representation or delivery, the sustenance of all communication is in the diet of language.
An only child (until I was nearly 18), my earliest companions were my dog, notebooks and pens. My prized possession was a complete set of Childcraft Encyclopedias, Volumes 1-15, 1954 Edition. By the time I was eight, I was tossing word salad and stirring the pot of prose. I filter my life through the literary lens of a semantic smorgasbord, feast on fiction and non, and cure my hunger pangs with anecdotal ink.
I am an Incurable Poet.

Barometer Books
A collection of bilingual and cross-cultural literature meant for all readers, regardless of age or station in life.
Fun, rhythmic and engaging, Barometer Books provides young readers the opportunity to learn how language works through poetry, meter, and repetition. Being exposed to other cultures through lingual similarities is a win-win on all literary levels.
Whether spending the day with a family who lives in the Amazon Rainforest or peeking in on a Willow tree sapling wondering “how tall her own trunk will climb,” Barometer Books are designed to entertain, enrich and enlighten.

Amazon Royal
Royal translated to Spanish is “real” (rreh-ahl). One might think of palaces, pageantry and pearls with the word royal in the title, but I lean towards, “real.”
My first trip to the Amazon was a last ditch effort to regain a semblance of health. It was life-saving and life-altering. SEE “And So It Began.” Over the span of fourteen years and 10 trips, I have spent more than a year and a half in the Amazon Rainforest gaining wisdom beyond the borders of my privileged, American life.
Worth more than the gold in the Lost City of Z, my experiences in the jungle are priceless, perpetual, and along with my family, my real preservation.
